It is fitted with a Brook Crompton Parkinson 3 phase motor and it has an IMO Jaguar Cub inverter to allow it to be powered from a standard single phase 240V socket. This 3 phase supply connects to the control panel in the middle of the stand where the on / off controls plus forward and reverse switch is located. Four safety interlocks are provided to the chuck guard, gear guard, motor housing door and foot kick switch. Some adjustment of speed can be controlled via the remote unit but note that the relays on the main switch panel won’t hold if the speed setting on the remote is set below about the 50% point. Plus the work light starts to look a bit dim as that is also wired through the transformer in the switch panel!
There is a 240V single phase suds pump, but it is not wired into the switch panel – whilst it runs, I haven’t checked to see if it still pumps. Subject to you checking that it actually pumps, best that its wiring is replaced and a new switch is fitted.
