This is a Myford Super 7 lathe that probably dates to the mid 1960’s. The serial number of the quick change gearbox is QC63157, however there isn’t a serial number visible where it would normally be present on the bed. This might be due to the bed having been re-ground at some point during its lifetime?
The micrometer dials to the cross slide and top slide are imperial, as is the leadscrew handle and rule markings to the tailstock spindle barrel. There is also a screw cutting dial indicator fitted.
It has been fitted with a brand new 0.75kw 240V single phase motor by Crompton Greaves. If you are considering other Myford lathes of a similar vintage but still with an original motor do bear in mind whether it is taking the risk with 50 year old insulation which in my experience starts to become brittle and breakdown.
It has brand new vee belts on the primary drive motor to countershaft and secondary drive countershaft to headstock, plus a new spindle wick and wiper felt.

- Burnerd Model 30M 3 jaw self centering chuck with inside and outside jaws plus chuck key
- 7″ face plate
- 4 1/2″ Myford V1106 catch plate
- 2MT drill chuck for use in the tailstock
- live and dead centre for use in the tailstock
Note that the gearbox has been drained of oil, ready for shipping. It will need to be refilled as part of commissioning this lathe in your workshop.
Please review the photos to assess the condition of this machine. There are some marks to the the rear of the bed near to the gap, however they do not affect the movement of the carriage which itself is nice and consistent along the length of the bed.
