This is a Myford Speed 10 long bed lathe, serial number VSL151968 which dates the year of manufacture to the latter part of the date range 1975 to 1985.
It has taper roller bearings to the spindle and the micrometer dials to the cross slide and top slide are numbered 0 to 90 indicating this is an imperial lathe. There is also a dog clutch fitted to the lead screw.
It is powered by a single phase 240V 370W motor by Brook Crompton Parkinson Motors.
It has a brand new vee belt fitted to the secondary drive from the countershaft to the spindle

- 4″ 3 jaw self centering 1588-10130 Pratt Burnerd chuck plus key
- face plate
- 2MT drill chuck for use in the tail stock
- Selection of change gears
- Installation and maintenance manual (ML10 version)
Please review the photos to check the condition of this lathe, the bed has a number of marks to it. One of the teeth to the large spindle back gear wheel is damaged, please see the final photo – back gear mechanism still works, and sounds okay when running, please listen to the relevant part of the video with it running.
The condition of the half nuts can be seen in the penultimate photo – not too much wear evident.
