For Sale: £4165 plus £190 delivery

This is a Myford Super 7 Connoisseur “Big Bore” lathe bearing the serial number SK171182 and which the makers plate says its year of manufacture was 2002. It is fitted with quick change screw cutting gearbox serial number QC170863 and it has power cross feed plus there is a screw cutting dial indicator fitted. The lathe is mounted on an industrial style Myford cabinet with riser blocks.
It is powered from a standard 240V domestic supply, with the box to the left hand side of the cabinet containing the 3 phase inverter supply to the motor allowing variable speed control of the spindle. There is a digital read out showing the spindle speed. Also within the stand is a coolant pump. The coolant pump is operated by a switch mounted on top of its motor, it runs but has not been tested with coolant to prove that it pumps.
The machine benefits from having had a strip down service and inspection as part of the process of preparing it for sale, although the spindle assembly remains as it was because according to the former owner, it was originally set up by Chris Moore when he visited the former owner to commission the machine. It has a new wiper felt fitted and the condition of the lead screw nuts can be seen in the final photo.
The micrometer dials on the cross slide and top slide go from 0 – 90, indicating it is an imperial lathe.

Please review the photos and watch the video to assess the condition of this lathe. Note that there are a couple of dinks to the bed as a result of the former owner lacking the strength needed to remove the chuck, please ensure you check the relevant photos showing these dinks. One of the dinks is on the surface of the rear half of the bed, the other is on the front edge of the bed. There are some areas of cracking to the lathe paintwork and some paint on the tray has chipped off.
The gearbox has been drained of oil, ready for shipping. It will need to be refilled as part of commissioning this lathe in your workshop.
Collection in person of this lathe is available. Alternatively, shipping to GB non-remote postcodes with Monday to Friday anytime delivery is available for the price given in the listing. The length of the cabinet is slightly longer than a standard pallet, so the shipping cost reflects the need to ship it as an oversized pallet. If shipping to Highland/Remote/NI postcodes is required or Saturday or AM / PM delivery, please contact me for the additional cost.
