This is a Myford Series “M” 3 1/2″ centre lathe with extra long bed. According to the original brochure, the long beds admits 28″ between centres, that being an additional 12″ capacity compared to the standard bed.
The thread to the spindle nose is 1″ x 12TPI. Both the spindle and tailstock have 1MT tapers to them. There is a screw cutting dial indicator mounted to the right hand side of the carriage.
It is powered by a single phase 240V motor mounted beneath the countershaft to the rear of the lathe.
Also included are the following items.
- Recent Pratt Burnerd Internationa 9580-01005 l 100mm standard accuracy scroll chuck with inside and outside jaws, mounted on back plate for fitting to the spindle.
- 1MT drill chuck for use in the tailstock
- Selection of change gears
- Alternative tool post
- Copy of manuals as supplied by Tony Griffiths of the lathes website.
Collection in person of this item is available. Alternatively, shipping to GB non-remote postcodes with Monday to Friday anytime delivery is available for the price given in the listing. If shipping to Highland/Remote/NI postcodes is required or Saturday or AM / PM delivery, please contact me for the additional cost. This lathe will be delivered fixed to a pallet. As this lathe is slightly longer than a standard pallet, I will need to remove items such as the leadscrew handle, the gear cover, gear quandrant arm from the lathe so that it will fit. I will also need to remove the lathe from its stand, the motorising assembly from the stand, and possibly dismantle the stand. Some reassembly with therefore be required in order to recommission this lathe in your workshop.
