Myford ML7 lathe K129014 late model with gearbox and clutch

For sale: £2135 plus £84 delivery

This is a Myford ML7 lathe with clutch and screw cutting gearbox. The lathe serial is K129014 which means it is a very late model dating from around 1976 and the gearbox serial number is QC168984. Similar to late Super 7 models, this machine has the wide bed guides. It also has a fully enclosed guard to the clutch and primary drive belt, presumably as the health & safety rules of the mid-1970’s required it, unlike 1946 when the first ML7’s were made!

The micrometer dials to the cross slide and top slide are imperial and it is fitted with a screw cutting dial indicator.

It is fitted with a single phase 240V motor allowing operation from a standard domestic power supply and it has a Myford forward / reverse switch box to allow the spindle direction of rotation to be selected.

The machine benefits from having had a full strip down service and inspection as part of the process of preparing it for sale. It has brand new vee belts on the primary drive motor to countershaft and secondary drive countershaft to headstock, plus a new wiper felt.. During my inspection the movement of the carriage along the bed felt very consistent, with little tightening when approaching the right hand end which might otherwise indicate some wear to the bed. The condition of the lead screw nuts can be seen in the final photo

Please review the photos and watch the video to assess the condition on this lathe. Of the 50+ ML7’s I have had through my workshop over the past 8 years, I would say this machine is certainly in the top three in terms of overall condition.

Note that the gearbox has been drained of oil, ready for shipping. It will need to be refilled as part of commissioning this lathe in your workshop.

Collection in person of this lathe is available. Alternatively, shipping to GB non-remote postcodes with Monday to Friday anytime delivery is available for the price given in the listing. If shipping to Highland/Remote/NI postcodes is required or Saturday or AM / PM delivery, please contact me for the additional cost. The item will be bolted onto a pallet for delivery.

Note that my workbench on which the machine has been placed for the purpose of taking photos is not included in the sale.
