Marlow Milling Machine Model No 1

Sorry, now sold

This is a Marlow Milling Machine by Victa Engineering of Maidenhead with the serial number 182. The table size is 22″ x 6 1/2″ which according to the lathes.co.uk website indicates this is a Model No 1 machine.

The head can rotate + / – 30 degrees from the vertical. Alternatively, if the locking bolts are removed and refitted in the horizontal fixing holes, the head can be mounted horizontally with + / – 30 degress of rotation.

Power to the spindle is derived from a 240V single phase motor. There is a 3 step pulley drive, with a back gear mechanism, giving a total of 6 speeds of operation.

The spindle accepts MT2 tooling and there is a self lock chuck with four collets plus a suitable drawbar. The large milling vice shown in the photos is also included.

This mill is a very heavy item, probably topping in at at least 300kg. To make it easier to manoeuvre into your workshop, the column can be separated from the base, and the head from the top of the column. There are two cut outs to the right and rear of the base which provide access under the mill if you want to use this space for storage. There are two metal plates that fit over these cut outs.

Note there is some damage to the slots on the table at the right hand end, and in a more central area. Please check the photos to see the condition of the table.

Collection in person of this mill is available. Alternatively, shipping to GB non-remote postcodes with Monday to Friday anytime delivery is available for the price given in the listing. If shipping to Highland/Remote/NI postcodes is required or Saturday or AM / PM delivery, please contact me for the additional cost. The item will be bolted onto a pallet for delivery. Note that the motor (and switch) will be removed from the mill for shipping and secured separately to the pallet so that this item fits within the allowable pallet footprint.
