Sorry, now sold
This is a Myford Super 7 lathe serial number SK138745, which dates the year of manufacture to between 1976 and 1979. The micrometer dials to the cross slide and top slide are numbered 0 to 90, indicating this is an imperial lathe.
It is powered by a prototypical single phase 240V 550W motor by Brook Crompton Parkinson Motors.
It has brand new vee belts on the primary drive motor to countershaft and secondary drive countershaft to spindle, a new spindle lubrication wick and a new wiper felt. As with all Super 7 lathes I prepare for sale, it has been stripped down, inspected then re-assembled. The final photo shows that the half nuts are in good condition.
The history of this machine is that it comes from the workshop of a model engineer in Nottingham, I half wonder if the reason for some of the peripheral components being green is due to it being some sort of ‘factory special’ in the late 1970’s around the time when machines changed from being grey to green?
