Myford Super 7 lathe SK44408

Sorry, now sold

This is a Myford Super 7 lathe bearing the serial number SK44408 which dates the year of manufacture to around 1960.

The micrometer dials to the cross slide and top slide are imperial, as is the leadscrew handle and rule markings to the tailstock spindle barrel. There is also a screw cutting dial indicator fitted.

It is fitted with a 1425RPM single phase 240V motor by Brook Crompton Motors.

It has brand new vee belts on the primary drive motor to countershaft and secondary drive countershaft to headstock, plus a new spindle wick and wiper felt.

The condition of the bed belies the chronological age of this machine; having inspected and set up approximately 100 Series 7 lathes, the feel of the saddle along the full length of the bed is similar to much younger, low use examples of a Myford lathe!

Also included are the following accessories….

  • 3 jaw self centering lathe chuck plus chuck key
  • 4 1/2″ Myford V1106 catch plate
  • 7″ face plate
  • drill chuck with MT2 mount for use in the tailstock
  • MT2 live centre
  • MT2 dead centre & half centres
