Sorry, now sold
This is a Tom Senior Model ‘M1’ milling machine complete with simple vertical milling head, plus the support arm and cutter arbor for horizontal milling. The serial number is MI1624
It has been fitted with a 3 phase motor operated from a Newton Tesla ML750 controller allowing variable speed control of the spindle from a normal 240V single phase supply. The ML750 unit is unmounted, when you commission this machine in your workshop it can be mounted either on a suitable nearby wall or on the body on the mill.
Further information about the Senior M1 mill can be found on the excellent lathes.co.uk website here.
The simple vertical head accepts MT2 tooling – you will need to make a suitable drawbar from some threaded rod to pull the tooling into the spindle.
The table size is approx 25″ x 6.25″ and the graduations to the hand wheel dials are imperial.
There is a power feed unit to the x-axis of the table, powered from the spindle drive pulley. It also looks like there is a coolant pump to the rear of the base of the column, but this is untested and it will need a new drive belt if you want to see if it works.
Collection in person of this lathe is available. Alternatively, shipping to GB non-remote postcodes with Monday to Friday anytime delivery is available for the price given in the listing. If shipping to Highland/Remote/NI postcodes is required or Saturday or AM / PM delivery, please contact me for the additional cost. The item will be bolted onto a pallet for delivery.
