Myford TriLeva lathe with screw cutting gearbox

This is a Myford TriLeva lathe with screw cutting gearbox. The lathe serial number is K68232 which dates the year of manufacturer to around 1964 and the gearbox serial number is QC67372.

The micrometer dials to the cross slide and top slide are imperial, as is the leadscrew handle and rule markings to the tailstock spindle barrel. There is also a screw cutting dial indicator present.

It is fitted with a 240V single phase motor allowing operation from a standard domestic supply.

It has brand new vee belts all round, one on the primary drive motor to countershaft and three for the trileva drive mechanism from the countershaft to headstock, plus it has a new wiper felt.

The condition of the bed is good, both in terms of consistency of travel of the carriage along the length of the bed and cosmetically. The condition of the lead screw half nuts is also good, as can be seen in the final photo.

  • 4″ 3 jaw self centering chuck with matched inside and outside jaws
  • quick change tool post plus two tool holders, one bar holder and one parting tool holder
  • 7” face plate + angle plate
  • 4 1/2″ Myford V1106 catch plate
  • 2MT drill chuck for use in the tailstock
  • 2MT dead centre

Note that the gearbox has been drained of oil, ready for shipping. It will need to be refilled as part of commissioning this lathe in your workshop.
