Myford ML7 Lathe – serial number K3165

Sorry, now sold

This is a Myford ML7 lathe with serial number K3165, which dates it to approximately 1948.

It is fitted with a Newton Tesla CL400 speed controller linked to a 0.5HP, 1425RPM 3 phase electric motor supplied by HBM.

It has brand new vee belts on the primary drive motor to countershaft and secondary drive countershaft to headstock. The wiper felt has also been renewed.

The micrometer dials on the cross slide and top slide go from 0 – 100, indicating it is an imperial lathe.

Also included are the following items…

  • 4 1/4″” Pratt DJ805 self centring 3 jaw chuck with inside / outside jaws + key
  • 7″ Myford faceplate
  • 4 1/2″ Myford V1106 catch plate
  • Change gears
  • 2MT Jacobs 32B 0 to 3/8″ drill chuck
  • 2MT Jacobs No 36 3/16″ to 3/4″ drill chuck
  • Quick change tool post with two square tool holders and one round bar holder

At some point during its life a former owner has repainted this lathe – the original “Myford” red lettering on the headstock can just about be still seen peaking through in places. I have stripped, etch primed and spray painted the headstock belt cover, carriage and top slide with Paragon heat resistant enamel paint so as to provide a new protective layer to those components and to complete the finish I have applied a new branding sticker as supplied by Myford.

Shipping to UK mainland areas ( excluding Highland postcodes ) is available in a custom made crate loaded onto a pallet.
