For sale: £895 plus £84 delivery

This is a Myford Super 7 MK1 lathe bearing the serial number SK6821 which dates the year of manufacture to between 1955 and 1958. It is fitted with quick change screw cutting gearbox serial number QC3060/1. There is also the suffix R.69 to the bed serial number which might indicate it underwent a bed regrind in 1969?
The micrometer dials to the cross slide and top slide are imperial and the machine is fitted with a screw cutting dial indicator. There is also an additional metric read out to the cross slide micrometer.
The condition of the paint work to the bed and tailstock won’t win any awards; the enamel paint finish to some batches of machines coming out of the Beeston works dried out over time resulting in cracking and flaking of the final layer of grey revealing the cream high build primer and this has happened in spades with this lathe; much of the remaining paint to the bed and gearbox will flake off with very little provocation. If you want a lathe to look at rather than to use, this machine might not be for you! Please review the photos and video carefully to inspect the cosmetic condition of this machine.
The machine benefits from having had a full strip down service and inspection as part of the process of preparing it for sale. It has brand new vee belts on the primary drive motor to countershaft and secondary drive countershaft to headstock, plus a new wiper felt. The condition of the lead screw nuts can be seen in the final photo.
It is fitted with a 240V single phase motor allowing it to be operated from a normal domestic supply.
